FAQs
Buggy bodies are hand made from only the highest quality glass fibre matting and resins, using two thick applications of clear gel coat followed by metallic flake then a 7 ounce lay-up of glass giving an overall thickness of 6mm. Some of the moulds used are very old and often taken from an existing Beach Buggy. This is a hand crafted process, not robotic or industrial. You can expect some imperfections in the finish, this is due to the manufacturing process and the original mould used.
Beach Buggies make people smile. You will alway be asked questions about it. People will say, ‘'Oh my, what’s that?’' and others remember having one. Beach buggies are extremely basic compared to modern cars, lacking virtually any creature comforts and so are a tad unrefined, but that’s their appeal. A correctly build buggy drives well, although due to the low weight; minor road imperfections, ruts and pot holes tend to be amplified through the chassis and steering column. A full 6 point roll cage can help in this area, making the fibreglass body/chassis more ridged.
